| The project funds three professorial chairs, one each
at the IMI, IIT-M, and IIT-R. The Chair Professors take up the responsibility
of the project tasks assigned to the respective institutions. They
engage in planning, execution, progress reporting, budgetary control,
and preparation and submission of various reports – administrative
as well as technical. They also liaise with other relevant institutions
for implementing the project tasks, encouraging participation, dissemination
and seeking cooperation of government and other agencies. Salary costs
of the professors are met by the provision made in the budget for
the duration of the project.
The participating institutions provide infrastructural support,
e.g. space, secretarial assistance, communication facilities, etc.
Consultants for carrying out studies may be appointed under the
project in accordance with the guidelines framed by the Steering
Committee. They may be institutions or individuals. |
